Poquoson's Annual Lighted

Christmas Parade

Friday, December 1, 7pm

Parade features band, twirlers, community and civic groups highlighting the holiday season. Parade begins at Kelsor and Wythe Creek Road and follows to the Intersection of Victory and Wythe Creek Road.  The Parade reviewing stand is located at Dominion Village Senior Living. A proud sponsor of the parade event.

All ages are invited to help us spread holiday cheer at this merry time of year! Festivities will include a visit from the Grinch, gingerbread house display, holiday card creation station, Teen Advisory Board bake sale, lots of crafts and activities for children, and bingo for all ages. The Friends of the Library will have a membership table, so stop by and say hello!

For ages 8 & under. Clifford the Big Red Dog is coming to the library thanks to WHRO! Everyone's favorite Big Red Dog will be visiting the library and spreading holiday cheer. We'll read holiday stories, make an ornament craft and enjoy cookies with Clifford!

Gingerbread Houses Construction- Poquoson Public Library
Tuesday, December 5 6pm
Calling all kid architects! 1st-5th graders, build gingerbread houses out of all edible materials. We will supply the graham crackers, icing, and candy, and you bring your creativity. Participants will have the option to enter their house into the city-wide contest and display their creation in the library.

Gingerbread Showdown Poquoson Public Library
Wednesday, December 6 6:30pm
6th-12th graders, whether you are a seasoned gingerbread artist or new to the game, join us to build gingerbread houses out of all edible materials. We will supply the graham crackers, icing, and candy. Bring your creativity and any specialty edible pieces you would like to add. When completed, you will have the option to enter your house into the city-wide contest and display your creation in the library or take it home

Enter the Gingerbread House Contest!

Enter your gingerbread house in this annual contest sponsored by Poquoson 
Office of Community Recreation & Poquoson Public Library.  Great prizes available. Teams or individuals welcome to enter.Houses may be constructed using base kits. All materials in the construction process must 
be edible. Candies must be unwrapped. Entries should show originality and creativity. 
All entries must be dropped off at the Poquoson Public Library by close of business Thursday, December 7, 2023.  All entries must have designers name, age, and 
phone number on the underside of the house. No entry will be accepted without this information. Once the judging is complete, houses will be on display at the Poquoson Public Library starting December 10.  Prizes will be awarded. Winners will be notified at the 
Library display starting December 10. Houses must be picked up by owners Dec. 17, 2023.
